Let me begin by saying that I must have said “omg! omg! omg!” at least 10 days at first seeing this dining room. Everything about it is divine! Worthy of a “Love at First Gasp” post. Poppytalk (located in Vancover) introduced me to Canadian House & Home magazine & now I am hooked. No need to be physically in Canada to appreciate it’s decor. This photo was in Canadian House & Home’s online sample magazine under the topic: Indie Chic. Well, I guess I’m a fan of Indie then! The owners of this home are a very creative duo: Matt Carr (industrial designer) & Joyce Jo (fashion designer/retailer). I’m already a fan of their home decor taste – I imagine their other work is brilliant as well.

I have this super cool old frame with no artwork in it (got for $30 at a local salvage shop in Fort Lauderdale, great price). I painted it that wonderful yellow, oh, painted the clothes pins too! I love small details, can you tell? It’s in my dining room.

Ooo… I hope I’m not lusting over a piece of furniture. LOL! My blog buddy, David from The Studio Chronicle posted John Beck’s work & I MUST, must, must re-post his work for myself.

Read MoreMy friend Vanessa has one of my favorite dining rooms ever! She is a huge fan of mixing old things & new – we have that in common. Represented in her gorgeous dining space are: Ikea, Anthropologie, Target, salvage finds, Etsy fabrics & tasteful personal touches. Ikea’s black BJURSTA table has never looked better!
Read MoreLeave it to Anthropologie to think outside of the box! What in the world is with their new “Eat, Drink & Be Merry Chandelier”? I like it, but it’s really kind of crazy! With Thanksgiving only a few days away I want to post this week about some pieces that I think are Thanksgiving-related… this chandelier being one of them. HOW, you might ask?
Read MoreThe color turquoise has never looked better! My friend Katie blows me away! Mother of 5, home-school mom, wife, cook… the list goes on. Still, she finds time to create such a beauty as this turquoise hutch. Everything about it is lovely… the rusted metal panels, the original rusted knobs, it’s shape (so unique), the keyholes (LOVE those)!
Read MoreKenneth Brown (from ReDesign on HGTV) super ROCKS!!! He by special request sent me the above photo on the left of a dining room he designed a few years ago. I got the inspiration for my breakfast nook from this photo. Normally this photo would’ve been on his website: kennethbrowndesign.com, but because of fabulous new designs this photo was MIA (missing in action)!
Read MoreAs in a fairy tale… “they lived happily ever after” – old things & new things, that is. These photos are not from my home, I am sad to say, but from a Soho flat. Done by Magdalena Keck Interior Design. I was google-ing south Florida interior decorators & Magdalena’s site came up – although she is not in Florida (she’s in New York) & neither is this flat, hmm, what happened there Google? One of the few sites that I actually liked out of all the ones that came up…
Read MoreCicero, a Roman Philosopher from 106-43 BC once said: “A room without books is like a body without a soul.” (In case you don’t know who he is, click on his name.) I couldn’t agree more. Well said, don’t you think? Pottery Barn was my original inspiration for using books as decor. Then I began to realize that almost every decor book and magazine out there has a book somewhere in a room…
