Two words: Ghetto fabulous! Founders Jimmie & Martin are brilliant. Their work “combines the decadent and quirky with the nostalgic & urban” – quote taken from their website: www.jimmiemartin.co.uk. Price tag: pricey – rightfully so. The end product is unique & well done with close attention paid to details. I would love to see one of Jimmie Martin’s pieces in person… doable if I could afford the presidential suite in Manhattan’s luxury Surrey hotel – as one of Jimmie Martin’s pieces is in the suite’s bar, lobby. Since our budget’s not allowing this visit anytime soon, I’ll settle for these lovely photos below (these are my favorites from Jimmie Martin’s work).

Jimmie Martin’s work is an example of new life being given to old pieces. The fresh coat of paint & crisp new fabrics enhance each piece’s already-gorgeous, historic curves. I’m sure each of these pieces were sweet before Jimmie & Martin got to them, now they’re nothing short of outstanding. Stunning what a little creativity can achieve, don’t you agree? Even stunning what a little spray-painted graffiti can do to an old English buffet. Bottom line: I’m so impressed with Jimmie & Martin – very talented fellows. Great job guys!
The question of the day is: would I love to own my very own Jimmie Martin piece on day? Positively YES. Not in our current Charleston-South-Carolina-like townhome though. I’m most leaning towards a chair or sofa. Actually, I don’t want to limit myself. All of Jimmie Martin’s work is brilliant. Whatever it is, it’d be most appropriate in a Manhattan apartment… one day. Keep dreaming, Fern. Just keep dreaming! All things have a season, a time, a place, a budget, you get the idea. Happy Friday. Have a lovely weekend everyone!

They featured his home in my Living ETC.. magazine last month – I think you’d like that!!

These pieces are so unique and would be so fun to have a piece in my home! Thanks for sharing!
Very unique indeed! I love the chair with the peacock feather.
You surprise me all the time Fern! I can’t say that I LOVE this and would put it in my house, but it is very creative I’ll give him that.
Love the decoupage
I have given you a blog award on my “Blog Love Fest”

Very interesting and unique! Not sure I could live with some of these pieces though, but admire the concept and work… I do love the Union Jack sofa though!

“Their work ‘combines the decadent and quirky with the nostalgic & urban’”. I liked Jimmie Martin’s work!
wow… these are just wonderful. I am a huge fan of high contrast, and I love how these pieces all pop… I love the chartruese interior to the first piece.
Beautiful! I’ve recently acquired a china cabinet/hutch and have gone through tons of magazines looking for painting ideas. This is great! Thanks.
Missing you, Fern!!!!!
Missing you too Annette
I’m in a season of learning a little more about a lovely word called “balance” – being a better steward of my time. It’s a good lesson.
