We celebrated Meme (our eldest) turning four this past weekend. Sweet, sweet party… I have some photos for you to see below. We had “Sleeping Beauty” come to have tea with Meme and a few of her friends. Just a precious, memorable little birthday party! Budget was tight and, of course, I wanted to decorate. As you may know, I’m a fan of Colin Cowie – he has a phenomenal gift when it comes to planning, organizing and decorating events. He SO inspires me. I read one of his book called “Colin Cowie Chic” a while back and just loved it… definitely worth re-reading. I found the left inspiration photo under the category “Recipes & Tips” on Colin Cowie’s website, titled: Having that Romantic Look. Here’s how Colin described it: “For an utterly whimsical and romantic look, try hanging individual fully blown, inverted rose blossoms in the trees above your ceremony or cocktail reception.”

A romantic princess tea party for a four year old sounded to me like the prefect occasion for hanging paper flowers. Making the paper flowers was a bit of a time consuming project, but well worth it. I plan on doing a tutorial teaching you how to make your own paper flowers. Super easy, inexpensive & pretty. My flowers aren’t exactly like the one’s in Colin Cowie’s inspiration photo, but they’re close enough for me! Stay tuned for that paper flower tutorial… Below is Meme with blowing out her number 4 birthday candle and hugging her beloved “Sleeping Beauty”. Sweet memories!

How adorable is that? I want a party like that, and I’m well past the age of four, haha! I bet Miss Meme was tickled pink, especially to have Sleeping Beauty in attendance. Great job!
wow! what a lucky girl to have such a pretty party!
ps. love the cake!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MEME
I want to come to a Tea Party at your house
I am looking forward to the tutorial, what a fun, beautiful idea.
It was my B.Day last week and when I was out running errands a few days later I treated myself to tea at our local tea room, (you know us Brits we need our tea fix) it is a great place, being going there with my kids forever, know everyone, my daughter even worked there one summer, I feel spoilt every time I go
Have a great day, T.
