I originally bought myself a memo board with the hopes of upping organization for my Etsy shop. But when that didn’t work (because I couldn’t stand seeing mix-matched notes hanging randomly in such a small area), I had to come up with a new use for my lovely new aqua, butterfly board. I didn’t have the heart to throw it out or even give it away yet as I had just bought it. Then the thought crossed my mind that my growing collection of Forever 21 earrings was, at that time, in a glass jar in my master bathroom (or as I like to call it my “formal dressing room” – sounds much fancier that way) – thus came the idea for my memo board jewelry “box”. Do you like it? Super easy to do – works great for the loop-type earrings as well as the ones with the backs that attach separately to them. Just lean the memo board up against something, as I did, or hang it on wall. Makes all your earrings more visible & easy to get to. And, this way they’re not piled up on each other as in some traditional jewelry boxes.

I also found a thrifty way to store my rings (bottom left photo) – they’re hanging from thumb tacks at the top left of the memo board. Check out the bathroom towel holder in the bottom right photo – that’s up-cycled too. The towels that it’s meant to hold are SO annoyingly small so I had to come up with a new use for the holder. It is now my necklace holder – up-cycled too! I’m mentioning it as more of a side not, yet it’s equally as fun as the memo board. If you’re amazed at how little jewelry I own & how cheap it all is, join my sister’s club! She’s been thinking that for years! As you may have already noticed, I’m more into home decor than clothing & accessories. It is what it is!

what a great idea? My daughter has a cute board like that, I can’t wait to surprise her with a new jewelry board.
FUN! I hope she loves it
I’m glad you like the idea.
Great idea! I have so little jewelry though, I would need a very tiny memo board!
Wow, it’s so creative and feminine looking
And of course, nothing better than handmade stuff!
Feminine is always good! I wish I could say that I made my memo board – I’m not that talented when it comes to fabric & such
What a compliment that you thought I made it! LOL!
I love the fabric of your memo board, the color is gorgeous! I would have never thought to use one for jewelry, what a great idea. Seriously, your jewelry collection looks GINORMOUS compared to mine – I have about 4 pairs of earrings and my wedding ring…a jewelry girl I am not. Now purses are another story!
WOW! I thought I had so little… all about perspective, huh
Forever 21 earrings are so cheap: $3-4… I’m beginning to realize that I might have a small weakness for them then.
This is an awesome idea! I’ll share this with my daughter who has more jewelry than space to put it in!
Very pretty colored board! I love the idea..hmmmm. might need to think about this for my jewelry collection
This is beautiful! Very great idea.
Ok…so here’s some freaky (but funny) news… While “window-shopping” at the mall this weekend, I stopped in the cutest store that had a memo board and it made me want to buy it so I can organize my jewelry (because even though I have a jewelry case…they’re STILL not organized!). Oh and of course, the idea generated from me seeing it in your bathroom a few months ago…haha. Well, I didn’t buy it thinking that it wouldn’t really help me, and NOW…I feel the need to go back to buy it because you are my confirmation that it can work!!! We’re so stubborn at times…lol. It’s mostly for my earrings. Hate having to dig through them to find the right pair. Once again…THANK YOU darling!
LOL! Happy to have inspired you, sis
I hope you go back to get it!
This idea would be pretty inside a walk in closet, too! I get tired of seeing my same, old clothes every day. BUT if the closet is pretty,it makes the clothes seem more beautiful and appealing
LOL! I agree
Girls NEED pretty “dressing rooms” (aka closets)!
So beautiful and clever!
Great idea.
such a good idea! it seems like even my efforts to get my jewelry organized ends up a clutter mess!
