Graham & Brown Wallpaper

This is TOO stinkin’ cool! Similar to my new love, Charlotte Mann, with the black and white look, but different in that this is wallpaper. Artists Taylor & Wood designed this fabulous wallpaper. The bathroom photo (below left) is my favorite. I love how the frames look hand-drawn & imperfect. Who needs perfectly straight lines anyway, right? So many options with it… Graham & Brown (the manufactures) suggest putting real family photos in the frames, letting your little ones paint inside the frames (which I would NOT do) or even putting your little one’s art in the frames – I’m guessing with just regular tape. I like ideas 1 & 3 the best because the photos/art can easily be removed when you get sick of them. I personally wouldn’t let my little ones paint over this wallpaper because they won’t be little forever – their art is nice & all when they’re still little, but what parent still has their 15-year-old’s preschool art up? NONE. Well, maybe the Fockers do (Have you seen that movie? I can re-watch it over & over – too funny!). I’m so good at digressing! Back to topic… I am honestly not a big wallpaper person – never been brave enough to attempt it. I always have this fear of messing up & having to re-buy everything. (I should take a class at Home Depot & learn how to do it one day – to master my fears!) In my head, it almost looks easier to try & hand-draw similar looking frames than buy Graham & Brown’s wallpaper that “draws” frames for you. Note: I have only mastered stick people when it comes to my art skills – I don’t think I trust myself THAT much to draw frames on my wall. It all boils down to whether I want to pay $40 for a double roll or borrow Taylor & Wood’s idea & attempt to draw frames myself. Would you be comfortable drawing a bunch of frames on your walls?

  1. Very cool blog AND very cool wallpaper! It’s a very clever concept. I think it would look great used quite sparingly as a feature.

  2. Straight lines are overrated! :) I’m not brave enough to try wallpaper, either. I say, try to draw it – what’s the worst that can happen? It’ll look hideous and then you paint over it and buy the wallpaper after all :) The best that could happen – it looks FAB and you did it yourself ;)

  3. Ooh, so pretty and unique!!

Love your blog. :D I think I’m “following” you in blogger now.

  4. I love wallpaper and would love it in the house, but everyone who’s done it has advised me against it….so then I just paint…someday I’ll get up the nerve too.

  5. I think the Fockers are funny too (I feel like I’m swearing everytime I say it). Cool wall paper I would definately buy the paper verses comming up with my own rendition of it!!

Since it is a very busy pattern start with a small area to make sure you LOVE it and can LIVE with it before doing large areas!!

best of luck on the PROJECT!!

  6. Oh I LOVE that wallpaper! and this blog! – marking you down as a favourite ;)

  7. That is the coolest wallpaper ever!!!!!! I think it would look great as either an accent wall or a space divider look to a room.

  8. Dude, that wallpaper is amazing! But I would so do it myself. If I ever own a house. It would be a really cool accent wall, like along an open stairway or in a kitchen, even. Thanks for posting!

  9. That wallpaper is fantastic. Instead of covering walls, I’d love to cover notebooks with it.

  10. Wallpaper is so much better than I ever gave it credit. Thanks for sharing this.
