manhattan ork poster with pant hanger

Thanks Ork for designing such a lovely poster & making it affordable. Thanks ’self’ for posting about a neat way to hang an Ork poster – check that out here. I love my new black & white Manhattan poster – even in front of my white wall. The black letters really stand out in the sea of white. I like it! In front of a colored wall the entire white poster would stand out, but I like where it is – it’s a subtle surprise, not poster-overkill. So, why Manhattan, you ask, & not the heart or brain posters that I so loved in my Ork Poster blog post? Because in case Esteban (my hubby) didn’t like it in our home – I do get restricted in my decor sometimes! I thought he could take it to his office where I knew it would also be loved. It’s very office chic! Another ‘why Manhattan’ reason is: because that’s where my hubby & I went for our honeymoon 5 years ago. Crazy huh? Not the most romantic spot on the planet, but we were young & daring – not that we’re old now because we’re not. For our flat, Disney & NASA touristy Florida home, we thought the big apple would be a vibrant, lively place to experience, at some point in our lives. I will mention that waking up every morning of our week in Manhattan to church bells & fire truck sirens was not part of the plan. But all in all, it was wonderful – we were typical tourists: Statue of Liberty, Central Park carriage ride, Empire State building, you name it! Well, enough of that – back to topic. My Ork poster came neatly rolled up in the cardboard cylinder tube (in photo below). I had to lay, of course, some books on it to try and flatten out the edges. Once they were flat enough – I couldn’t wait that long (I was too excited to see it hung), I “borrowed” my hubby’s pant hanger & vuala! Perfection! Oh, the pant hanger didn’t hold the poster as tight as I would’ve liked so I had to use a couple pieces of scotch tape (to the back of the poster only – didn’t have the heart to put tape on the front) to secured it to the wooden hanger. I’m so happy with the finished look. It fills the void in an awkward space in our home. It’s the wall that’s visible when looking down from the 2nd floor banister. That wall space is too high to hang things on unless I get a heavy duty ladder (which I don’t own). So hammering one little nail from just over the banister turned out to be a very simple task. Hope you’re inspired to put an Ork poster on your Christmas wish list.

  5. I love Ork posters! I have three: San Francisco, Boston and L.A. Not only are they great pieces of artwork, but they are really useful when I’m talking about a location or a restaurant in one of the cities – i can just point to it on my wall. They come in different colors too. But I never thought of hanging it on a hanger!

  6. Have you ever considered adding more videos to your blog posts to keep the readers more entertained? I mean I just read through the entire article of yours and it was quite good but since I’m more of a visual learner,I found that to be more helpful well let me know how it turns out. This is good…thanks for sharing
